Banger hit  ‘Pippi Pippi  Dum Dum' from 'Kuberaa' resonates while dazzling superstar icons--evergreen Nagarjuna, Dhanush & Rashmika share heartfelt sentiments ! by Chaitanya Padukone

The thumping foot-tapping beats and catchy lyrics of vibrant dance-song 'Pippi Pippi Dum Dum Dum' from multi-lingual action-emotional-romantic entertainer 'Kuberaa' dropped in Mumbai and other locations amidst massive star-studded fanfare at the PVR-Juhu . The atmosphere turned electric as Kuberaa stars evergreen Nagarjuna, Dhanush, and Rashmika Mandanna as well as Dalip Tahil and Jim Sarbh lit up the stage, bringing alive the magic of this much-awaited cinematic spectacle.

The afternoon event kicked off with an unexpected twist: not one but two back-to-back screenings of the Kuberaa teaser, as the audience erupted into frenzied cheers demanding an encore. The teaser, raw and riveting, was met with deafening applause and whistles, setting the tone for the big reveal.

Then came the melody showstopper — the Pippi Pippi Dum Dum Dum. A break up song, high-energy number picturised on the fabulous mega--crores-Club iconic star dancer-actress Rashmika Mandanna ! That turns the iconic nursery rhyme on its head, the track captures the chaotic soul of 'Kuberaa'.

Post the screening, the Kuberaa cast took center stage for a spirited media interaction. Nagarjuna, making a rare promotional appearance, spoke straight from the heart. 

The Southside unassuming 'ageless' superstar Nagarjuna  “I'm so, so deeply appreciative and grateful to all of you for the constant love and appreciation right from my first Bollywood hit movie 'Shiva' followed by so many landmark Hindi movies  including 'Criminal' , 'Zakhm, and Khuda Gawah,  And this film ' Kuberaa'  is very, very special to me. It came to me at a point in time when I was wondering what next to do. Like you asked, what should I do next? I can't keep doing the same roles over and over again. National Film award winning director Sekhar Kammula, whom I wanted to work with for the last 15 years, came to me and asked if I would like to do this role. I didn't even ask what he was going to offer me—I just said yes. Because I know, I've seen Sekhar Kammula's earlier amazing films. He's a brilliant filmmaker, so real, with sensibilities that are so true.”, insists Nagarjuna who praised modest co-star Rashmika Mandanna as a brilliant power-house performer whose blockbuster movies  ( Pushpa 1 & 2, Animal, Chhaava etc) in the past three years have earned over 2000 crores at the box-office   

It may be recalled that Rashmika made her impressive Hindi movie debut in 'Goodbye' (2022) as superstar Amitabh Bachchan's rebel, outspoken screen-daughter "Tara Bhalla'----which had grey streaks-shades.

Popular mega-star Dhanush opened up as he said, ,“In movie Kuberaa its a challenging role, where  I play a poor beggar who also dances well,is very different and a very very special film and very close to my heart. We had fantastic experiences shooting for this film and weird experience(s) shooting for this film - shooting dump-yards, garbage trucks and stuff. But every experience teaches you something or the other. We're very happy to have worked such a brilliant team - such a positive team. You generally don't get to see me often, I don't get to come out (here) often.. Shooting for these realistic dump-yard scenes was also nostalgic yet enlightening and took me back into my ,down-to-earth humble childhood memories. And if You love my realistic performance credit also goes to my genius director Sekhar Kammula and the proactive support of costars Naga-Sir and Rashmika-jee ",revealed Dhanush on an emotional note.  

Exuberant ever-smiling ( "twinkle twinkle superstar") Rashmika said, " As far as my dance-song 'Pippi Pippi Dum Dum Dum'  with it is an optimistic  fun-take on the female perspective of a romantic heart-break. with catchy lyrics like ' single-life-hai-super-yaar-- am always happy, always high" sung by Indravathi, written by Chaitanya Pingali and music by super-talented composer Devi Sri Prasad. There were several scenes in 'Kubera' shot in  discreet 'guerilla-camera' style . We spent the whole day running around with the camera, just capturing realistic moments, and all we kept thinking was, just get into the car. We didn’t even see the monitor, didn’t even know what the shots looked like. But the master behind it all was genius director Sekhar sir. Working with him has been incredible, and I believe all of us put our hearts into this film. I am confident audiences will love my simple yet strong screen-character--something I have never done before."

Produced by Suniel Narang and Puskur Ram Mohan Rao under the banners of Sri Venkateswara Cinemas LLP and Amigos Creations Pvt Ltd, it is Co Produced by Vipul Agarwal and Manish Vasisth, with Mugafi as Presenter for the North of India, also leading the the film’s distribution charge across the North region. 

Kuberaa is directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Sekhar Kammula and has music by Devi Sri Prasad (DSP).  Starring three superstars Nagarjuna, Dhanush and Rashmika, the film is presented in five languages — Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam — expanding its pan-India canvas.

The fabulous entertainer film Kuberaa is all set to hit the screens worldwide on Friday 20th June 2025.
